Elon Musk’s political involvement has also contributed to Tesla’s challenges. His appointment as the chief of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) raised concerns among investors and the public. Critics viewed this role as a distraction from his responsibilities at Tesla, leading to public backlash, protests outside Tesla dealerships, and calls for boycotts.
